San Marcos, California is the inland community which is home to Cal State San Marcos and a great many other areas of interest.  The area is home to a number of golf courses which offer year round enjoyment. The area is also home to a number of new craft brewers which have become world renown, in fact State Highway 78 has become known as “Hop Highway”.  San Marcos boasts a new community just south of the University in the hilltop area known as San Elijo hills.  It is a mix of townhomes and single family residences along with shopping a schools.
